M27: Man pleads guilty to causing death of Salisbury driver

A serious multi-vehicle collision took place at junction five of the M27 shortly after 12.30pm on Wednesday, February 21. The collision involved a Mercedes lorry, Nissan Juke and Volkswagen Polo. Lorry driver Michal Kaminski[1], 36, of Devizes Road, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ross Alex Neiland, 38, from Littlehampton, was charged[2] with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death while uninsured, causing death while driving without a valid licence and failing to allow a specimen of blood to be analysed. He will be sentenced at Southampton Crown Court on January 21. Mr Kaminski's brother Rafal paid tribute to him in March.

He told the Southern Daily Echo: "He was my best mate and he was really a mentor for me. He was such a smart guy. We were really close.

"It's really heart-breaking because nothing is going to give him back."
