M40 closure to be put in place near Oxford Services

The exit slip road on the northbound carriageway at junction 8A for Oxford Services is scheduled to be closed tonight. The closure comes into force from 10.15pm and the slip lane is expected to reopen at 6am tomorrow morning (Wednesday December 11). This is due to National Highways carrying out maintenance works on the M40 northbound between junctions eight and nine.

The overall scheme will require various lane closures, slip road closures and diversions for traffic[2] which will be announced by National Highways.

The roadworks were listed on the National Highways website where an advance notification of full closures on motorways and A-roads are provided.
