Man ‘grabbed by the throat’ after Transit vans crash in Tewkesbury

Police investigating a road rage incident are appealing for witnesses after a man was grabbed by the throat. Two transit vans crashed on the A46 in Tewkesbury on Friday, 22 November. Around 7.40am, a white Ford Transit van and a black Ford Transit van crashed along Ashchurch Road.

After the crash, an argument between the two male drivers broke out. One man grabbed the other by the throat, causing minor injuries, police have said. A 42-year-old man from Swindon has been arrested on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He has been released on bail as investigations into the incident continue. Officers have reviewed CCTV footage of nearby businesses and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward. Gloucestershire Police has said: "Officers would now like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed either the collision or the assault which followed.

They are also keen to hear from anybody who has dash cam or CCTV footage of the incident and who has not already spoken to police.
