Motorcyclist in hospital after crash with van on A4440

Traffic was brought to a standstill on the A4440 Broomhall Way following the crash between the van and a motorcycle, which took place at around 7.45am on Thursday (December 12). The crash took place at the junction of the A38 and Broomhall Way. Police and ambulance staff were called to the scene with the vehicles blocking one of the lanes.

Traffic was at a standstill for over an hour while emergency services dealt with the incident. One ambulance was called to the crash at 7.44am, with police being called around 15 minutes later. The motorcyclist was assessed and had suffered potentially serious injuries.

He was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further treatment, but West Mercia Police said the injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. Eyewitness Ryan Harris said: "This bike went past me down the dual tracks as I was coming to the roundabout at the top of Carrington it had only just happened. "He had just got up from his bike as I was getting near, he seemed as okay as he could be."

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.44am to a road traffic collision involving a motorbike and a van at the junction of the A38 and Broomhall Way in Worcester. "One ambulance attended the scene. "Upon arrival, we found the motorcyclist who was assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.

"He received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene before being conveyed to Worcester Royal Hospital for further treatment." A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to the A4440 Broomhall Way shortly before 8am this morning (December 12) to a collision involving a motorbike and a car. "One lane was blocked but the vehicles have now been recovered.

"The man on the motorbike was treated by the ambulance service for his injuries but they are not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing."
