Oxfordshire A34 lorry crash ‘upsetting incident of carnage’
The incident occurred on Monday morning as a car and a lorry were involved in a collision on the A34 Southbound to Hinksey Hill Interchange which caused long delays in the area. Thames Valley Police, South Central Ambulance Service and Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service all attended the scene and the road was temporarily closed. A driver said: "It looked like carnage.

"It's caused tailbacks all the way to the Botley junction, but the police have now closed it before that." Another driver who was first to the scene added: "As a nurse, I'm used to stopping at incidents, but this one was upsetting, particularly given the time of year. "People rubbernecking was making the situation more dangerous and they're investigating what happened." "Three fire crews attended - Abingdon, Rewley Road (Oxford) and Kidlington. "The crews worked with the police to make the scene safe. "Fortunately, everyone was out of the vehicles when the fire service arrived," added the spokesperson for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
