Tragedy as biker killed in crash with van in Staffordshire

A motorcyclist who was involved in a crash with a van in Staffordshire[1] has died. The crash happened at the junction of Stile Cop Road and the A460 in Rugeley[2] at around 7.28am today, Thursday, December 5. Paramedics said the biker, a man, was found in a critical condition.

He received CPR from bystanders before paramedics took over and began administering advanced life support. But he was pronounced dead at the scene. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford responded to the tragedy.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service[4] spokesperson said: "We were called at 7.28am to the junction of Stile Cop Road and the A460 and sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

On arrival, crews found the motorcyclist, a man, in a critical condition receiving CPR from bystanders.

"Ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone's best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene."
