Two lorry drivers killed in Christmas Eve crash tragedy

Two lorry drivers have died following a crash on Christmas[1] Eve morning. The drivers, both aged 51, were killed in a smash on the A15 in Lincolnshire, police[2] said. It happened near Caenby Corner at around 9.30am.

Following the collision drivers were asked to avoid the area where possible, with police saying the road would be closed for some time. In a statement Lincolnshire Police said: "We can confirm that two people have sadly died following a collision on the A15 near Caenby Corner, this morning. Officers attended following the collision near the Snitterby junction, which involved a Volvo lorry and a Scania lorry.

"Sadly, the drivers of both lorries were pronounced dead at the scene. Both men were aged 51: one man was from the Barnsley area, the other man from the Cleethorpes area. "The road remains closed."

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to 101 quoting Incident 82 of December 24, or to email Pc Alastair Key at [email protected].
