Two men taken to hospital after crash on A629 near Steeton
The crash involving two vehicles took place on the A629 near Steeton shortly before 9am today. A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A629 close to Steeton at 8:53am today (Saturday). The collision involved a van and a car.
"Two males were treated at the scene by ambulance staff. The men's injuries are not believed to be life threatening. "The road was partially closed as emergency services dealt with the incident and it was fully re-opened shortly before midday."
A spokesperson for the Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 8.53am today to a road-traffic collision between two vehicles on the A629. "We sent two ambulances and two patients were taken to Airedale Hospital." The crash caused extensive traffic disruption in the area, blocking the road and closing major roundabouts in the area.
A Keighley Bus Company bus service, number 62, had been unable to serve bus users in Silsden, Addingham and Ilkley while emergency services dealt with the crash. But the service is back now that the road has re-opened. In a post on X, formerly Twitter, the Keighley Bus Company wrote: "Great news!
The 62 will now be running back on its usual route.
"Thank you for bearing with us during this time."
