Witnesses and video footage sought by police after pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries being struck by car on the A326 Hythe bypass

A PEDESTRIAN is fighting for her life after being struck by a car on the A326 Hythe bypass. Witnesses and video footage are being sought over the collision, which involved a white Toyota Yaris and happened on the busy route around 4pm yesterday (Tuesday). Paramedics and police responded, and the casualty, a woman in her 20s, was taken by ambulance to hospital.

A Hampshire force spokesperson said she was currently being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Officers have launched an investigation and are urging the public to come forward if they can help establish the incident's circumstances. The spokesperson continued: "We would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this collision and anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage that could be relevant."
