Two drivers checked - one taken to hospital

West Midlands Ambulance Service has provided a statement following the crash at Garrison Circus on the A4540 Watery Lane Middleway where it meets Great Barr Street. Paramedics assessed the two drivers involved in the crash, with one taken to hospital and the other discharged. An ambulance service spokeswoman said: "We were called by the police to reports of a collision involving a lorry and a car at the junction of Great Barr Street and the A4540, Birmingham at 11.39am today (Tuesday, 21st January).

"One ambulance responded to the scene and arrived to find a lorry on its side. The drivers of both vehicles, two men, were assessed by ambulance staff. The lorry driver was discharged from care.

The car driver sustained non-serious injuries and was treated on scene before being conveyed to Heartlands Hospital for further precautionary checks."
