Happy New Year! First lorry of 2025 crashes into Holden Bridge

Police have assisted with the removal of a lorry - after it hit an accident-plagued bridge. The lorry was damaged after striking Holden Bridge - on the A53 through Sneyd Green[1] - this afternoon. The road was closed at the height of the incident.

The alarm was raised at 12.37pm today. A Staffordshire Police[2] spokesman said: "We were called to Leek New Road following reports of a lorry colliding with a bridge. Recovery was arranged and the lorry was removed from the area.

No-one was injured."
