M25 drivers face ‘severe delays’ after fuel spill
Motorists are being warned to expect severe delays on the M25 as repairs take place following a crash.
Only one lane on the anticlockwise stretch of the motorway in Hertfordshire, between junctions 25 (Waltham Cross) and 23 (A1), was left open on Friday morning.
National Highways said the central reservation barrier needed to be replaced and the road resurfaced, after an HGV hit the barrier on Thursday evening.
There was a "significant fuel spillage" at a point where lane one was already closed for long-term roadworks, leaving only lane two open to traffic.
