M6 Coventry closure as multiple vehicle crash involving HGV leaves car ‘facing wrong way’

Part of the M6 motorway near Coventry had to be closed after a crash between a HGV and three cars. Highways officers closed off the southbound carriageway between Junction 3 and Junction 2 earlier this afternoon (January 2). Warwickshire[1] Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to 999 calls to report the collision just before 12.45pm.

When they arrived, they found one of the three cars facing the wrong way on the motorway. Fortunately no-one was trapped or seriously injured. West Midlands Fire Service responded to the call for help well as an ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service.
