Pensioner dies after collision at pedestrian crossing at Westgate-on-Sea
A woman has died after she was struck by a car in Westgate-on-Sea in Kent.
The incident happened on the A28 Canterbury Road at its junction with St Mildreds Road, at 5.06pm on Saturday 25 January.
Kent Police said a blue Ford Fiesta was travelling towards Margate, when it was involved in a collision with two women who were walking across the carriageway, at a traffic light controlled pedestrian crossing.
Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service.
One of the women, who was in her 70s, died at the scene.
The second woman remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The vehicle stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Serious collision investigators are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police to come forward.
