Why was the A44 closed near Chadbury Farm Shop in Evesham?

Both the A44 near Chadbury Farm Shop and Fish Hill (which remains closed today January 24) were closed yesterday (January 23) after reports of overturned lorries. Police have confirmed that nobody was injured in the incidents but did not link the two events. Speculation has built online with some residents believing the second incident to be the original lorry which crashed on Fish Hill coming off a recovery truck which was pictured at the scene before emergency services.

West Mercia Police confirmed officers attended both scenes and a spokesperson said: "We received a call around 11:20am yesterday morning (23 January) with a report of a road traffic collision on Fish Hill, Broadway. "Officers arrived to find a lorry had tipped onto its side. "The road remained closed for recovery of the vehicle.

"A report was also made around 6:50pm yesterday evening (23 January) following a lorry being overturned on Worcester Road, Chadbury.

"Officers arrived and remained at the scene until recovery of the lorry was complete.

"Thankfully, no injuries to report."
