A338 reopens in Wiltshire after HGV overturned in crash

An HGV overturned and a car sustained significant damage in a collision on the A338 between Tidworth and Collingbourne Ducis during the night of Friday, February 14. The busy A-road was shut by police while the vehicles were recovered at the scene, and was expected to remain closed for the night. The A338 was reopened on Saturday morning, with traffic maps indicating that traffic has been travelling as normal throughout the day.

There have been no reported injuries as a result of the collision, with police stating after the incident that both drivers had had "lucky escapes."

Wiltshire Police are yet to provide a further update on the incident. A spokesperson for the force said last night: "A very lucky escape for the drivers of these vehicles this evening.

"Roads Policing Units are at (the) scene at Leckford crossroads on the A338, where it will be closed for the night pending recovery efforts."
