Busy road closed after car and lorry crash

A busy road has been shut for several hours after a collision involving a lorry and car.

Emergency services were called to the A14 westbound carriageway between junction 50, for Stowmarket, and junction 49, for Haughley in Suffolk, at 23:41 GMT on Thursday.

Suffolk Police said the carriageway was not likely to reopen until after 07:00 while investigation work was carried out.

National Highways put a diversion in place, external[1] and urged drivers to avoid the area.
