Driver seriously injured as car and van crash in West Looe

A man was rushed to hospital following a crash in West Looe[1] yesterday, Thursday, February 13. The crash took place on the A387 Polperro Road[2] at around 3.55pm. The road was subsequently closed for much of the night.

Devon and Cornwall Police[3] said it involved a a black Citroen C-Crosser and a yellow Iveco Daily van. The driver of the Citroen, a 58-year-old local man, was seriously injured in the crash. Investigating police officers are now appealing for information on the crash.

They are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward. Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The Citroen driver, a man in his 50s, was seriously injured during the collision and is being treated in hospital. His family are with him.

"The road was closed while an investigation was carried out at the scene. Officers from the Roads Policing Team would like to thank the public for their patience. "Anyone with any relevant information or dash-cam footage which may assist the investigation is asked to contact police via our website or by calling 101 quoting log 497 of the 13 February."
