Lorry driver killed and another man hospitalised after M6 crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision

A man has died following a crash on the M6 motorway. At 9.55pm last night, Thursday February 27, police were called to reports of a collision[1] involving a Toyota Avensis and a white MAN Truck HGV on the M6 between junctions 15 and 16 southbound, near Stoke-on-Trent.

Tragically, the driver of the HGV, who was out of the lorry as it had broken down, died at the scene. His family are being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the Toyota was taken to hospital with leg and facial injuries.

His injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.

Staffordshire Police are now appealing for witnesses. In a statement, they said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators.
