M6 northbound this morningThe M6 is closed heading northbound this morning due to a serious crash between a lorry and a van. Lancashire Constabulary, Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service are all in attendance at the crash between junction 32 for the Broughton Interchange and M55 and junction 33 for Garstang. Police said that the road is expected to be closed for some time and that a diversion will be put in place.
A spokesperson for police said: "We want to update you and let you know that the M6 Northbound between junctions 32-33 is currently closed due to a road traffic collision. We anticipate that the motorway will be closed for some time. In the meantime, we'd recommend looking for an alternative route and driving carefully, leaving plenty of extra time to get to your destination.
"We'll keep tabs on what's happening and we'll update you here once the motorway is open."
