M6 Northbound near Preston closed following ‘serious accident’ involving lorry and van

A section of the M6 in Lancashire is closed following a 'serious collision' earlier this morning, 5 February.

Emergency services are in attendance and all lanes going northbound are shut between junctions 32 and 33 following the crash which involved a lorry and a van.

Lancashire Police saod that the motorway is expected to be closed for some time.

In a statement on X, the force said: "The M6 Northbound between junctions 32-33 is currently closed due to a road traffic collision.

"We anticipate that the motorway will be closed for some time.

We'd recommend looking for an alternative route.

"We'll update you here once the motorway is open."

According to National Highways, disruption is expected throughout the early morning.
