Traffic is completely stopped on the M6 southbound after a multi-vehicle crash. The incident, first reported by witnesses at around 8.48am this morning (February 9), reportedly involves a number of vehicles and a van. Traffic is stopped between junction 30 (m61) and junction 29 for Bamber Bridge as a result of the collision and there is already a significant amount of congestion as a result, almost as far back as junction 31.

Emergency services are in attendance at the scene of the crash. If you are planning to travel today, National Highways: North West recommend that you plan ahead as delays are likely.
