Pedestrian involved in serious lorry and car crash that closed M5 for hours

A pedestrian, a car and a lorry were involved in the serious crash on the M5 that closed the motorway this afternoon[1], Wednesday, February 26. The crash took place between junction 24 for Bridgwater and junction 25 for Taunton[2] at around 3pm, closing the northbound carriageway for three hours and the southbound carriageway for over six hours. The M5 reopened fully at around 9.30pm.

Information regarding the condition of the pedestrian involved in the collision is yet to be released. Nor has any information been released about the condition of the drivers or any passengers travelling in the car and lorry that were involved. There was lengthy investigation work undertaken on the motorway following the crash. Avon and Somerset Police are appealing[3] for anyone with dashcam footage or information to come forward.
