Serious crash that closed M5 for hours involved pedestrian, lorry and car

Investigations will continue today into a serious M5 crash[1] that closed the motorway for hours in the West Country. The collision happened between junction 24 for Bridgwater and junction 25 for Taunton in Somerset at around 3pm on Wednesday (February 26) and involved a pedestrian, a car and a lorry. It closed the northbound carriageway for three hours and the southbound carriageway for over six hours.

The M5 reopened fully at around 9.30pm. Information regarding the condition of the pedestrian involved in the collision is yet to be released. Nor has any information been released about the condition of the drivers or any passengers travelling in the car and lorry that were involved.
