A361 in Highworth reopened after crash involving motorcyclist

The road was closed just north of Highworth after a crash between a van and a motorcycle. The road was closed from midday on Monday as police officials had to divert cars off the A361. A statement from the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity said: "Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity was called to a road traffic collision in the Swindon area at 12:24 on Monday 17 March 2025.

"We responded in our helicopter and treated a patient on scene, before airlifting the patient to Southmead Hospital in Bristol." Wiltshire Police were on the scene and said that the motorcyclist is "a man in his 30s and was taken to hospital with serious life changing injuries." The road was closed from the roundabout near the ALDI headed along Blackworth all the way up Lechlade Road to Lynt Farm Lane.

According to officials, the van driver was unharmed by the incident - it is unclear what happened.
