A54: Driver in hospital after crash on Holmes Chapel Road

The crash was on the A54 Holmes Chapel Road[1] at around 2.40pm on Wednesday, March 12. A Cheshire Police spokesperson said the driver of the white van is in Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries. There was a closure on the A54 Holmes Chapel Road close to the M6 J18 for the clean-up and the collision investigation.

There were police, paramedics and three Cheshire and Fire Rescue Service units from nearby Middlewich and Winsford.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "One casualty has been rescued from one vehicle and handed into the care of paramedics."
