Author’s £1.5k ‘thank you pint’ for lorry driver who saved mum’s life on Yorkshire road
A best-selling author has managed to raise GBP1.4k to purchase a 'thank you pint' for a lorry driver who saved his mother's life. Matthew Coyne established a GoFundMe page upon discovering that, Christopher Dornelly, 52, had stopped his articulated lorry to help Matthew's mother, Pauline Sharpe, 76, who was in distress. Pauline was travelling on the M18 motorway in Yorkshire when her Grey Renault's front left and back right tyres burst.
She was approximately 20 minutes away from Rotherham [1]General Hospital, her destination, where she was due to consult about her son Tim, 43, who had recently been diagnosed with cancer.
