BREAKING: Man in his 60s dies after horror M60 lorry crash
One man has tragically died following a horror collision between a lorry and multiple cars on the M60 last night. Emergency services were called to the M60 between junctions 15 and 16 at around 7pm on Thursday (March 21). Police believe the lorry, described as a white cab and blue trailer, had lost control and collided with two vehicles before crossing into the opposing carriageway and colliding with a further two vehicles.
Officers have now confirmed a man in his 60s, the driver of one of the vehicles, has sadly died. A woman in her 20s also suffered serious injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. No arrests have been made at this time.

All lanes have since reopened, but some delays remain in the area. Detectives are now appealing to the public for more information on the crash. In a statement, Greater Manchester Police[2] said: "Officers are investigating following a fatal collision on the M60[3] in Salford[4] last night (Thursday 20 March), which also left several people injured.
"At around 7pm, emergency services responded to reports of a road traffic collision anti-clockwise between junction 15 and 16, involving a heavy goods vehicle.

"It is believed that the vehicle, a HGV with a white cab and blue trailer, had been travelling on the M60 when the vehicle lost control and collided into two vehicles. It then crossed into the opposing carriageway and collided with a further two vehicles, before coming to rest on the verge. "Sadly, the driver of one of the vehicles, a man in his 60s, died as a result of injuries from the collision.
A woman in her 20s suffered serious injuries not believed to be life-threatening, while several other people sustained minor injuries. No arrests have been made. "Closures remain in place and drivers are advised to check for latest travel updates while planning their journey.
"Officers from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
"This includes anyone who witnessed the collision or has any relevant dashcam footage from around the time of the crash.
