Busy Cambridgeshire road to be closed for hours after lorry overturns

An overturned lorry has closed the A1 southbound in Brampton this morning (Saturday, March 8). The road has been closed for more than eight hours as emergency resurfacing work is needed. National Highways first reported the incident just after midnight at 12.35am and has said the A1 is expected to be closed until this afternoon.

Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads. Traffic monitoring company Inrix reported: "A1 southbound closed, long delays due to overturned lorry and emergency resurfacing repairs at A1307 (Brampton Hut)."
