Chepstow at standstill after crash on A48 Sedbury Bridge

The collision on the A48 bridge towards Sedbury happened at around 7am and closed it in both directions until after 9am. A number of Newport Bus routes were affected, by either being more than 30 minutes delayed, or cancelled completely. The road was closed for two hours as the vehicles were recovered.

Gwent Police confirmed that those involved have not suffered any life-threatening or life-changing injuries. A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We had a call at about 7.35am this morning reporting a collision on the A48 Sedbury Bridge. "It did result in a road closure, and the road was reopened by about 9.15am.

"It involved a van and a motorcycle, and no life threatening injuries were reported."
