Crash victim airlifted to Royal Stoke with ‘life-changing injuries’
A crash victim has been airlifted to hospital with 'life-changing injuries'. The man - in his 20s - was a passenger in a car when it was in collision with a lorry and later flown to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[1]. The car driver has been taken to the same hospital.
The crash closed the A523 Ashbourne Road, through Bradnop, for a number of hours this morning. Now Staffordshire Police[2] are appealing for witnesses following the crash. A police spokesman said: "We were called to Ashbourne Road just after 7.30am following reports of a collision involving a HGV and a car.
Officers attended the scene alongside colleagues from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service[3] and West Midlands Ambulance Service[4]. The passenger in the car, a man in his 20s, was removed from the vehicle by fire crews and taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries. The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with minor injuries and the driver of the HGV, a man in his 30s, was not injured."
Witnesses should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 103 of 28 March.
