Driver dies after A14 three-vehicle crash near Cambridgeshire
A driver has died after a three-vehicle crash on the A14 in Bury St Edmunds last week. Police have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward. Officers were called to the A14[1] near junction 43 at 8.56am on Thursday, March 13, following reports of a collision involving two cars and a van on the eastbound carriageway.
The van involved was a white Vauxhall Vivaro, while the two cars were a silver Renault Scenic and a grey Citroen C4. The driver of the Renault, a man in his 80s, sustained serious injuries and sadly died in hospital on Sunday, March 16. A female passenger in the same car went home after the collision but was later admitted to hospital, where she currently remains.
The road was closed in both directions.
All lanes in both directions were fully reopened by 12.50pm.
