Quotezone CEO Greg Wilson said: "With such a high number of offences across different areas of the country, it's clear that speeding is still very much an issue that's not going away anytime soon. "For one area to record almost four in 10 of its population being caught speeding is quite shocking - speed limits are vital for everyone's safety. "Aside from any safety concerns, being caught speeding could also have financial implications, from fines to penalty points and even court appearances.
"Research suggests that just three points could raise your car insurance premium by an average of 5%. While six penalty points could push the cost of insurance up by an average of 25%. "At a time when people may be struggling financially with escalating costs all around them - this additional hike in car insurance is the last thing anyone needs.
"It's important for drivers to be safe, slow down and beware of the top ten regions prone to speeding tickets."
