The funeral for Eoin Fitzgerald will take place at 11.45am on Friday morning at St Mary's Church in Tarbert, followed by burial in Ahavoher Cemetery in Moyvane.

Mr Fitzgerald from Barragougeen, Moyvane, Co Kerry, is survived by his father James and mother Katie, siblings James, Andrew and Aoife, and grandmother Teresa Hayes.

The Fitzgerald family have been living in the UK for many years working in the construction sector.

Moyvane Parish Priest Fr Brendan Walsh said the community is in deep shock at the passing of Mr Fitzgerald.

"The whole parish is absolutely devastated at the tragic news. A very well thought of and respected family in the community. It has sent shockwaves throughout the community," Fr Walsh said.

"You can imagine the impact that something like this has when people knew and respected the family so well.

A young man taken in the prime of life.

He was a dedicated, hardworking man following in his father's footsteps as a builder," he added.

"The whole thing is just so shocking.

My thoughts and prayers are very much with the whole family," Fr Walsh said.
