Live: M5 traffic stopped after multi-vehicle crash in Gloucestershire
Traffic was stopped on the M5 in Gloucestershire following a serious crash. Multiple vehicles were involved in the collision, which took place sometime before 11am today (Friday, March 28). The site of the crash is within junction 8 in the northbound direction, National Highways has said, and delays are expected on the motorway.
Emergency services are at the scene. National Highways said: "Traffic has been STOPPED on the #M5[1] northbound within J8 ( #M50[2] ) in #Gloucestershire[3] due to a multi-vehicle collision. Emergency services are in attendance.
More information to follow shortly. Thanks for your patience if you're held up." Gloucestershire Police said five cars and a lorry were involved in the crash and one person has been taken to hospital.
According to reports, traffic began to clear on the road by around 1.30pm.
