Gloucestershire police officers[2] are at the scene and the road has been closed while a large amount of debris is cleared from the road. Gloucestershire Police said: "The A4136 in Lydbrook is currently closed following a multi-vehicle collision this afternoon (Thursday 27 March). "Police were called shortly before 1pm with a report of a collision involving a lorry and three cars.
There is significant debris on the road and so a closure has been put into place to allow Highways colleagues to clear it. "Motorists are asked to avoid the area and find alternative routes. Two people have been taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment."
It is the second serious crash in Gloucestershire this afternoon. A tractor and lorry collided on the A38 in Berkeley,[3] closing the road from around 2.35pm.
