Ambulance statement

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: ""We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a van at the junction of the A53 and School Lane, Longsdon at 12.57pm. We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a Community First Responder and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Tatenhill to the scene. "On arrival crews found three patients: a woman and two men.

The first man, the driver of the car, was assessed for potentially serious injuries and conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital by land ambulance. The woman, a passenger in the car, was assessed for injuries not thought to be serious. The second man; the driver of the van, was assessed at the scene.

Both were discharged with selfcare advice."
