Live updates as police closed roundabout after incident

A cordon was set up beneath the Rice Lane flyover this afternoon, Sunday March 9, and Merseyside Police attended the scene. Photographs show a police Matrix van and two police cars close to the cordon. The A59 Rice Lane was closed by police as they dealt with an incident.

A Volvo and a bike were visible inside the cordon as officers investigated. The nature of the incident is not currently known. The Liverpool ECHO has contacted Merseyside Police but has yet to receive a comment.
