M6 northbound closed after lorry crash near Wolverhampton as oil spills across motorway

A section of the M6 northbound has shut after a lorry reportedly crashed into the motorway's central reservation.
All three emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash, near J10 for Wolverhampton.

Oil spilled across the motorway during the single-vehicle collision, highway chiefs said.
All four lanes on the M6 northbound, between J10 and J10A of the M54, were shut following the incident.
One lane on the southbound carriageway was also closed.
Drivers caught behind the scene were facing huge delays to their journeys.
The latest update from National Highways reads: "Following a single vehicle collision, involving a lorry which struck the nearside and central reservation barriers at around 7.45am this morning, the M6 northbound was closed to allow police, the fire service and paramedics to work at the scene.

"West Midlands Fire Service[3] and West Midlands Ambulance Service[4] have since left.
"National Highways traffic officers remain on scene assisting West Midlands Police[5] and recovery personnel by providing a safe work area via traffic management.
"Both directions of the central reservation barrier have been damaged in the collision.
"An engineer is en-route to inspect a damaged lamppost within the central reservation which was struck, with National Highways area team crews already on scene treating an oil spillage.
Article continues below"Traffic caught within the closure was being turned and released via the rear of the queue via 'rearward relief' - however a route past the scene has been made safe and traffic is now flowing slowly past."
