A trucker is in hospital after a crash shut the M6. This morning and a 'complex' recovery continues for the lorry after it reportedly left the carriageway through Staffordshire. Now West Midlands Ambulance Service[1] has confirmed the driver has been treated for 'minor injuries'.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 3.40am. As reported by StokeonTrentLive[2] the southbound carriageway was shut between Junction 14 for Stafford North and junction 13 for Stafford South for several hours. While further lanes were able to be reopened as the morning progressed - another closure had to be rolled out at about 9.50am as 'complex recovery' of the lorry took place.
It has proved to be a morning of gridlock on the stretch where a broken down lorry just before junction 14 saw three lanes shut. At the time of reporting and two lanes remain shut at the scene of the crash. A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a road traffic collision on the M6 southbound between junctions 14 and 13 in Stafford.
We sent an ambulance and two paramedic officers to the scene.
