Man, 36, dies in A17 lorry and car crash near Boston

A 36-year-old man has died following a crash involving a car and two lorries. Lincolnshire Police[1] received a report at 4.32am on Thursday, March 13, that a grey Ford Kuga car and a blue HGV had collided on the A17 at Swineshead[2]. The incident, close to the junction of Stump Cross Lane[3], also involved a white lorry which had collided with debris at the scene. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 36-year-old's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers. The force has confirmed that an investigation is under way and is still in the early stages whilst they work to establish the cause and circumstances of the collision. There is a lot of debris in the road and both lanes remain closed as of 2pm between the Stump Cross Lane junction and Bicker Bar roundabout to Swineshead Bridge.

This is so that the debris can be cleared and so that collision investigation work can take place. The force stated: "This clean-up and investigation work is going to take a significant amount of time to ensure it is completed thoroughly, and we are advising people to avoid the area until at least 5pm today. We want to thank everyone who has so far proactively approached us with information, and appeal to anyone else we may not have spoken with to come forward with any information they have."

Anyone with information or footage of what happened that could assist the police investigation should call 101 and ask for the Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU), quoting incident 34 of March 13, 2025.
