Man seriously injured after being hit by Skoda on M4 slip road
A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car on an M4 slip road. Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation after two crashes which closed the motorway last night, Thursday, March 6.[1][2] The force said an empty and unlit green Vauxhall Corsa was reported to be stationary in a live lane on the eastbound carriageway near Leigh Delamere services at 7.31pm.
Shortly after, a Ford Transit van crashed into the back of the stationary Vauxhall, injuring three people. Then, shortly after 8pm, a man wearing dark clothing was hit by a Skoda on the entrance slip to the westbound services on the other side of the M4[3]. Police believe that man had been driving the Vauxhall Corsa and crossed the motorway on foot.
Investigating officers are now appealing to the public for information. They are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward. Wiltshire Police said: "Anyone who witnessed, or has dashcam footage of, the westbound collision is asked to contact Wiltshire's serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log 269 of 06/03.
Alternatively, email the team directly at [email protected][4]."
