Moment driver nearly crashes £50k Audi at notorious roundabout

Terrifying video shows the moment that an expensive Audi car has a very near miss at a notorious Alderley Edge roundabout.

In the footage, the car can be seen hitting a barrier by the roadside and the curb.

Fortunately, the impact was relatively light and the motorist was able to drive away with just some scratches to the paintwork and damage to a back wheel.

The driver was unharmed.

The incident was captured by 19-year-old Scott Pattsyon, who sometimes visits the area looking to spot luxury cars.

Alderley Edge is known to be home to a number of Premier League footballer, with previous residents including Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Rio Ferdinand[1], and Wayne Rooney[2].

As a result, it's a good area for luxury car spotters like Scott. "I was standing on the island capturing car content when the Audi lost traction and unfortunately hit the curb," said Scott.

"Luckily the car only suffered damage to one back wheel and the driver was unharmed.

"Me and the other guys often go to that place near Manchester to do some car spotting.

"Because it's a rich area, we usually see a lot."

It's also not the first time that Scott has witnessed a crash while out looking for motors.

Another crash in January at the same spot saw Scott and his friends intervening to help clean up the road afterwards.

In the incident, a BMW M3 Competition sped around a sharp corner before its back end went onto the wrong side of the road, before the car swerved onto the right hand and crashed into a barrier.

Eventually, the car spun and came to a halt across the two lanes.

"We filmed that car as usual but then the back end spun out," said Scott. "The car went into the barriers and then drove off down the road to later be recovered.

"There was oil leaking from the car, so me and the other guys thought we'd help out by putting some cones in the road - blocking one of the lanes.

"We got a van down with some cleaning stuff in, cleared up a bit of the mess and tried to get rid of the oil.

"The we phoned the police on 101, letting them know to send some people down to observe the scene."
