Motorcyclist taken to hospital after A361 Highworth crash

The incident happened on Monday, March 17 when Wiltshire Police responded to reports of a crash on the A361 in Highworth involving a van and a motorcyclist. It is unclear how the incident happened but police closed part of the A361, causing cars to divert from the Aldi roundabout on Blackworth. The road is closed all the way up to Lynt Farm Lane along Lechlade Road with cars having to be turned around by a police officer.

Wiltshire Police released the following statement: "We responded to reports of a road traffic collision involving a van and a motorbike on the A361, Highworth, just before 12.30pm this lunchtime (17/03). "The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with serious life changing injuries." Swindon Police are asking for any witnesses with dashcam footage to come forward, the spokesperson added: "If you saw what happened or have dashcam footage from the incident please contact us on 101 quoting log number 106 of today's date (17/03).

"There has been a serious collision on the A361, Highworth involving a van and a motorcyclist.

"Please seek alternative routes while emergency services attend."

At the time of writing the road remains closed.
