Nissan driver fined hundreds for driving over 40mph on motorway

Ian Cornelius was snapped by a speed camera while driving on the M5 southbound between junctions 4A (M42) and 5 (Droitwich). Cornelius, of Haymakers Road, Bishops Cleeve, Gloucestershire, was caught driving a Nissan above the posted 40 miles per hour speed limit on April 3, 2024. His case was heard at Worcester Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (February 26).

The 58-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence and received a fine of GBP461, as well as six penalty points on his licence. 

He has also been ordered to pay GBP110 in costs and a GBP184 surcharge.
