Pedestrian in Royal Stoke after being hit by lorry on M6 in North Staffordshire
A pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being hit by an articulated lorry on the M6 in Staffordshire. The woman was struck by the truck on the northbound side between junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent South and junction 16 for Stoke-on-Trent North. The crash - which shut the motorway - was reported shortly before 8pm on Friday (February 28).
It followed a similar closure between the same junctions on Thursday following the death of a trucker. In a statement released today, a Staffordshire Police[1] spokesman said: "We were called at 7.50pm last night (Friday 28 February) to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a articulated lorry between junctions 15 and 16 northbound. The pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital by ambulance.
The driver of the lorry was not injured. "
StokeonTrentLive has approached West Midlands Ambulance Service for a statement.
