Person cut from vehicle after crash between lorry and van on A142
A person was cut from a vehicle after a crash involving a lorry and a van on an A-road in Cambridgeshire[1] on Monday morning (March 10). The crash happened at 7.20am on the A142 Ely[2] Road near Mepal. Emergency services were called to the scene and one person was cut out of a vehicle by firefighters.
The person was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital. The road has been closed in both directions and traffic was diverted away[3] from the area. Investigation work into the incident is taking place.
A Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service[4] spokesperson said: "At 7.23am crews from Cottenham, Chatteris and Manea were called to a road traffic collision involving a HGV and a van on A142 near Mepal. "Using specialist equipment firefighters released a casualty who was left in the care of ambulance crews. The crews left the scene at approximately 8.15am."
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Police said: "All emergency services attended and one person was taken to Addenbrooke's hospital[5]."
