Police appeal after man hit by Ford Transit van on A27

Officers from Hampshire police were called at 10.22am yesterday (Tuesday, March 11) to a report of a collision on the A27 Oakhill in Bursledon[1], involving a white Ford Transit van and a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was taken to hospital following the incident. A spokesperson for the force confirmed his injuries were "serious but not life-threatening."

The driver of the van, a 49-year-old man from Southampton, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and driving without a licence. He remains in custody at this time. In a statement, a spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Police are appealing for dash cam footage following a serious collision in Bursledon.

"We would like to speak to anyone who has witnessed this incident and in particular anyone with relevant dash cam footage.

"If you have any information, please call 101 quoting reference 44250107327."
