Teenage boy hit by van in Wickford as high street completely shuts

A busy Essex high street has been partially closed after a teenage boy was hit by a van this afternoon (March 4). The incident took place at 12.35pm today on Wickford high street, and the area is seeing severe traffic as a result. Traffic reporting system INRIX reported that Wickford High Street was partially closed both directions from 12:30.

There was also severe traffic between the High Street and A129 London Road as a result of the incident. It has now been confirmed that a teenage boy was hit by a van on Wickford high street earlier today. An ambulance was sent to the scene and the boy was rushed to Basildon University Hospital as a result.
