Twelve new speed cameras to be installed on A38 in Cornwall

Twelve new speed cameras are to be installed along a six-mile stretch of the A38 in Cornwall as part of a GBP750,000 road safety scheme.

National Highways said safety issues had been identified on the road between Carkeel roundabout and Trerulefoot.

It said 10 average speed cameras and two spot cameras would be installed "in the coming months" and they would monitor new 30mph (48 km/h) restrictions at Landrake and Tideford.

National Highways' South West road safety manager Jack Mason said: "We're always exploring ways to make our roads safer by using collision data, risk assessments and insights to better understand driver behaviour."
